AnaEE-ERIC, an intergovernmental research organization established under the European Council, plays a pivotal role in understanding the impacts of various global change drivers on terrestrial and aquatic continental ecosystems across Europe. It offers access to a distributed network of facilities capable of simulating environmental changes, from land-use alterations and pollution to biological invasions and rising greenhouse gas concentrations. AnaEE-ERIC provides services and cutting-edge equipment to the research community in three Horizon Europe (HE) projects; Microbes4Climate (M4C), which focuses on offering services for the study of biodiversity and ecosystems; Integrated Research Infrastructure for Climate Change Risks (IRISCC), which provides services for investigating challenges and environmental risks related to climate change; and Research Infrastructure Services for Sustainable Aquaculture, Fisheries and the Blue Economy (AquaServ), which addresses the sustainability of aquaculture and fisheries.
As a Science Project Manager for AnaEE-ERIC, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the scientific, technical, and administrative management of the AnaEE-ERIC contribution in EU funded projects.
- Implement the contribution of AnaEE-ERIC, notably in training, quality control, access procedures, community building and stakeholder outreach.
- Participate to the collaboration meetings, possibly representing AnaEE-ERIC.
- Take responsibility to the management and achievement/meeting budgets in compliance with AnaEE-ERIC rules as well as specific rules for EU funded projects.
- Prepare and maintain other documents required or in use in the project, such as deliverable, guidelines, etc.
- Report to AnaEE-ERIC and the overall AnaEE infrastructure about the issues and developments within the framework of these projects.
- Keep up-to-date scientific and policy development within the framework of these projects.
- Contribute to the communication and outreach of AnaEE-ERIC, in relation with the communication officer.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least a MsC, preferably a PhD, or relevant research experience, in a core discipline relevant to AnaEE-ERIC, with 3 years of experience in research and/or in science management,
- Knowledge of the European landscape of research and research infrastructures,
- Demonstrable experience in writing papers, reports, publications, and presentations,
- Capacity to synthesize information and to communicate concise and clear information to non-scientific audiences,
- Excellent written and spoken English (CEFR level C2); the knowledge of a second language spoken in the EU will be an asset,
- Full command of Microsoft Office or equivalent,
- Experience in managing teams, budget, and deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and capacity to prioritize tasks.
- Self-starter, autonomous,
- Strong oral and written communication skills, especially in an international environment,
- Excellent interpersonal abilities,
- The position requires travelling in Europe.
- The knowledge of a second language spoken in the EU will be an asset.
